Das größte Geheimnis von Atalante und Die große Illusion bleibt der Einfluss von Dita Parlo auf Madonna (man denke an "Erotica" und "Sex" in "My name is Dita, I'll be your mistress tonight..." von 1992) und Dita von Teese. Wie dies irgendjemanden zu irgendetwas inspirieren kann, ist mir ein Rätsel.

Not every classic has to resonate with me so deeply for me to understand and love it. Atalanta simply didn't affect me, it didn't say anything to me, and as a romantic film, it didn't appeal to me much either. Perhaps I'll understand the charm of Vigo's films more often someday, but that hasn't happened yet. There are interesting scenes here, no doubt, but I guess I don't understand the significance of the film.
