Ein spektakulärer Ausflug auf Jetskis endet in einem fatalen Unfall. Jetzt kämpfen Kaya Adams (Isabel Gravitt) und ihre Freunde auf offener See ums Überleben, bis die Gruppe von einem Fisch-Trawler aus dem Meer gezogen wird. Doch schnell wird klar, dass der Kapitän sie nicht rettet, sondern einen äußerst grausamen Plan verfolgt. Das Schiff ist eine mörderische Falle. Um zu überleben, muss Kaya über sich hinauswachsen. “Be spontaneous!” These are lines just before death (Good from the right. That’ll keep me going.), and lines that are further from it but still aim for the same outcome. And now imagine a familiar Monty Python exchange: “...it says ‘In the event of death’ - ‘Nobody who's ever had their liver taken out by us has survived...’” Often more of a nature documentary (fish, seagull, turtle, camel toe), but it’s fairly engaging due to its authenticity, which makes even the length of the tribute to the United States Coast Guard absorbable. I don’t want to play at being a swimming instructor, but those trophies in the main character’s room weren’t for freestyle, were they?
