The problem is that the makers of Poison Ivy 2 failed to even stick to the basic scheme of the first film, so it was actually shot as a completely different one that has nothing in common even with the original character. In this case, Lily is just a girl caught up in fate, but she isn't necessarily the cause of the events, unlike Drew Barrymore in the first film, who clearly was. Simply a weakly erotic film lacking atmosphere, tension, and an interesting story.
