Inhalte(1)

(Verleiher-Text)

Englisch Both gritty and chillingly funny, a well-written, well-acted and skillfully, briskly filmed story. I wasn’t bored for a second. And it has a great soundtrack. Comparable to Cage's Lord of War. ()

Englisch This film (or the people behind it) doesn’t have a clue what it wants to be. It's not very comedic (a pregnant woman being shot), though some scenes are quite amusing. It's also not an action film, the war theme is described in a way that is most convenient for the creators. Diane Kruger as the leader of the rebel group is truly the highlight of the whole tragedy (I would say it's an intentional move). Richard Gere in an unusual role as a loser and internally scattered journalist wasn't completely the worst (though I don't believe his emotions) , but I can imagine him much better as a women's idol or an action hero. Overall, two or three scenes work, but ten or twenty simply don't and almost all of them bored me. ()

Englisch Richard Gere got quite an interesting character to play, who tries to prove that the world is a grim place because even great reporters can hit rock bottom. The introduction is so... I don't know. It's fast-paced, and I almost liked it when just that introduction was developed into the film and not just the basis for the events that followed. Some scenes here are unnecessary and are just there to evoke certain emotions. It doesn't work. The finale is quite mediocre, and I didn't even know what to expect. Revenge isn't that interesting, but did it actually make sense that it was about reporters all along? ()
