1863 herrscht Bürgerkrieg in Nordamerika. Tief im Feindesland versucht der Nordstaatler Colonel Marlowe mit seinem Regiment dem Feind die Versorgungswege abzuschneiden: Sie zerstören Brücken und Bahngleise. For being a reunion of John Ford and John Wayne, this is a really weak film with not much to say. Considering this is another collaboration between John Ford and John Wayne, it's indeed a weak film that doesn't have much to say. From such a duo, you would expect more, especially with William Holden in the mix.
