Eine US-Raumfähre wird entführt und James Bond (Roger Moore) entgeht einem Anschlag auf sein Leben. Jaws (Richard Kiel), der Beißer, ist in diesem Bond-Film auch wieder dabei, in dem sich der verrückte Multimillionär Hugo Drax (Michael Lonsdale) eine Weltraumstation aufbaut. Sein teuflischer Plan ist es, die gesamte Menschheit zu vernichten und eine neue Weltordnung mit seinen Astronauten zu schaffen. Bond muss Drax aufhalten, bevor es für die Erde zu spät ist. Der Countdown läuft bereits. Mit der NASA-Expertin Holly Goodhead (Lois Chiles) entert er die Weltraumstation. (MGM Home Entertainment)
