Taffe Mädels

Eine angenehme Komödie mit einem unerwartet guten Hauptdarstellerpaar. Das Thema ist nicht gerade originell, aber das Zusammenspiel von der reservierten, ehrgeizigen Sandra Bullock und der schäbigen und vulgären Melissa McCarthy rettet vieles. Vor allem dann, wenn die beiden in wirklich witzige Situationen geraten. Und außerdem ist es schön, wieder einmal eine neue US-amerikanische Komödie zu sehen, in der auf die Zuschauer*innen außer einer kleinen Menge an (vernünftig genutztem) Blut keine Körperflüssigkeiten warten. This is exactly the movie I needed. A pleasant comedy that might lack originality, but it offers a bunch of first-class scenes in return, which nearly made me piss my pants. Sandra and Melissa are an absolutely divine duo. I’m glad that it finally occurred to someone to create a female cop duo. Melissa delivers one great line after another and Sandra slowly joins her. The whole movie is a never-ending fit of laughter which will also please action-scene lovers. I must say that I really don’t know what the local two-star reviewers expected from this film. Am I really supposed to be ashamed for laughing at this movie, or should I concern myself with how cookie-cutter it is? Am I really supposed to worry about all this? I think the purpose of this comedy is primarily to relax, and that was successful in my case. The four stars are absolutely well-deserved. (23.06.2014)

At times, it's quite funny, but for heaven's sake, why did it have to be so long? Melissa is absolutely unbearable at the beginning, and Sandra only sometimes, but overall, Sandra is probably the more pleasant of the two. It's clear from the start how it's going to end. The only advantage the film has is that you'll eventually probably get into the game anyway, even though those unbearably long "funny" scenes will keep dragging you down. But I did laugh. (25.04.2014)
