Acht Freunde treffen sich nach längerer Zeit mal wieder zum Essen. Dass am selben Abend ein Komet nahe der Erde vorbeifliegt, findet zunächst nur am Rande Beachtung. Als aber die Mobiltelefone plötzlich verrückt spielen und im ganzen Viertel der Strom ausfällt, werden erste Zweifel wach, ob es sich tatsächlich nur um ein harmloses Himmelsphänomen handelt. Doch ein Notstromgenerator schafft für Abhilfe und die Zweifel sind schnell zerstreut. Bis jemandem ein paar Straßen weiter ein zweites Haus auffällt, das offensichtlich als einziges im Viertel ebenfalls noch Strom hat. Und dann das Klopfen an der Tür, und dann diese seltsame Nachricht in vertrauter Handschrift, und dann... Wie gut kennst du eigentlich deine Freunde? (Drop-Out Cinema)

The nicest indie sci-fi movie since… well, I don’t know since when. This is proof that to deliver a great experience all you need is one house (multiplied X times), several likeable and well written (meaning distinguishable) characters (multiply X times) and a catchy paranoid premise. An evening with old friends is interrupted by a comet that puts the protagonists in a Schrödinger box. I’d rather not reveal any more of the plot, is better to be surprised. In any case, if that’s enough for you, you will have a lot of fun with this cheap mysterious sci-fi movie.

Well, that wasn't for me. Fans of cheap films and clever scripts will enjoy it, but I prefer fun and action. The actors are very unlikeable, the premise is quite creepy but told in a boring and cluttered way; just a film that could have been made by just about anyone for a few bucks and would have only needed a clever scriptwriter, nothing more. If at least someone had come to blows here, but the director didn't have the balls for that.

Great example of film minimalism, but above all fantastic minimalism. Excellently paranoid film that doesn't lack tension. One of the few movies where I thought that the moving camera really makes sense and adds something extra to it. If you don't get tangled up in it, it's a pleasure for the mind.
