Nach 20 Jahren Ehe hasst der 60-jährige Julien seine Frau Clémence fast so sehr, wie er sie einst geliebt hat. Great, almost unbelievable performances by the actors, with essentially nothing for me to criticize. Gabin and Signoret are so believable and natural that you'll simply ponder why people are so mean to each other. Everything could have turned out completely differently if people had just communicated a little more with each other. But this is an eternal problem.
