Ahsoka

Schade, dass das Finale nachlässig gemacht wurde. Bei sechs Folgen hatte ich nämlich an dieser Serie fast nichts auszusetzen. Die Besetzung ist perfekt, Filoni hat es wieder geschafft, das Serien- und Film-Star-Wars-Universum mit einem schönen Faden zu verbinden. Eine einzige Folge (und Sie wissen sehr gut, welche ich meine) ist besser als die ganze Serie Obi-Wan Kenobi. Und eine absolut brillante Arbeit hat Kevin Kiner geleistet – wer hätte gedacht, wie weit er von seiner nicht besonders geschickten Imitation von John Williams in Star Wars: The Clone Wars kommt. Another series from the world of Star Wars. The viewer might even say that there has been enough of it and Disney could take a break. But it would be a shame for Ahsoka. It is evident throughout the whole series that its creators filmed it with love, joy, and respect for the world of Star Wars. The story takes place sometime after the sixth episode of the original trilogy, offering a huge amount of sword fighting battles, the cuteness of some Star Wars creatures, very well-written characters, and the whole thing has a girl power vibe as the cherry on top, which surprisingly won't bother the viewer at all. On the contrary. Everything that could have been done well here, has been done, and so I must say that for me, Ahsoka after The Mandalorian has become the second best series that Disney has prepared from this world so far. It's not bad, definitely better than Obi Wan or The Book of Boba Fett. But Ashoka follows a lot on shows I've only heard of. It kind of goes about its business without thinking about the uncomprehending viewers who are happy with the action and the excellent visual effects but haven't done their homework. So it offers a lot of cool stuff, including zombie Stormtroopers or biting into the mystery of another galaxy. Personally, I was very bothered by some thoughtless details, with some things happening simply to get the characters where Filoni needs them to be. The fact that it doesn't quite make sense is a side thing. I'm definitely looking forward to the next season. (04.10.2023)

Ahsoka has a great rollout, but a cranky, basically stumbling finale, in which several crucial things don't make much sense or are not explained, and those expecting an epic ending in the style of Episode 3 will be very disappointed. The opening has high ambitions. It has an excellent atmosphere and honours some of the traditions of the older Star Wars. Likewise, the fights are decently filmed. However, from the halfway point on, it's a stereotypical rehash without any invention or directorial initiative. Basically a weaker copy of the more entertaining The Mandalorian. The Hayden Christensen gimmick is not enough, although it is used solidly. (24.10.2023)
